Questions about a late hatch (Opened a dead egg to find it isn't)

Sorry it's been so stressful for you :hugs

I should be around late into the night if you need any help or have questions. I won't be around in the morning though, so I'll tag @WVduckchick because she's more likely to be on in the mornings - I'll be asleep :p

Thank you both I'm sorry about all of this, I will post pictures if she makes it, only final question I have is how long between applications of vasaline should I go?

I would just watch it and if it starts to look dry, apply a little more. You will probably have at least a few hours between each application :)

Don't beat yourself up over this. You're learning, we all make mistakes. My first hatch did not go well because I fiddled with things too much, second was a breeze, my current one is giving me new challenges.

Good luck to you both. I hope everything works out great!

Good news she's still here and the vaseline water mix I used with an eyedropper has kept her wet with the humidity so I haven't had to open the incubator back up. I have her listening to baby chicks and I'm just gonna wait the next few days and hope.

She started being less active this evening and is no longer responding to the chick videos, her veins haven't changed but I'm of the hopeful opinion she might just be sleeping, her last movement was around 5PM. I don't want to stress her out and open it up so I'll give her more time. The Vaseline has made it very easy to not have to worry about her drying out though I'm glad you brought up Neosporin/Vasaline stuff to me.
