Questions about BBR, Brown, Wheaten and Spangled

So wild type (e+) is not partridge? For some reason, I was thinking it was.

Looking at those pictures, it looks like the hen I thought was Wheaten might be wild type and the ones I thought were wild type might be brown.

the Partridge pattern is obtain by using eb(brown) and Pg(patern gene) there are very few birds that are just eb(brown) one that comes into mind is dark brown leghorns, they are wildtype on all genes except eb(brown) and Mahogany(red enhancer).

here are some pics of them, some people call them chocolate leghorns(they have a chocolate color to them) but they lack the choc gene or the dun based choc looks...

Dark brown leghorn pullets(they look so dark because of Mahogany) they lack any salmon breast on the hens(eb brown lack this trait)

now pics of the Dark brown leghorn rooster, they look wildtype(black breasted red) but with very dark mahogany red instead of gold..

Thanks! Pictures help so much! I need to go look at my birds again to try to figure out if they are BBR or Brown.

The Dark brown leghorn shown here have the red wing triangle so therefore should be considered wiltype right, just don't have the dilute as many other BBR(gold duck-wing) have. the picture of what Marvin posted as partridge are what is called Brown/reds (crow-wing) black wing triangle. I thought the gold duck-wing/BBR/wild-type is partridge? Brown/red is birchen based.

The OP ? you have to see the hens to tell the differences between the three(BBR,Brown,Wheaten) as the males all pretty much look the same with the exception of the Brown/red doesn't have the red in the wing triangle(this is the area of the wing where you can see the outer most flight feathers folded together).
The BBR hens are partridge(wild-type patterned with salamon colored breast), the Brown/red hens are (dark brown bodied with red/gold in the neck feathering), the wheaten is just that (hence the plumage is a light fawn/wheat in color)

Good examples there Chris, but too all partridge females aren't penciled either, it that were the case you'd have to call them gold partridge and silver partridge, right? Partridge is a color, Penciled is a pattern.

In the U.S. we call the pattern Partridge and Silver Penciled.

Dark brown leghorn males do look wildtype, but they are based on eb(brown), while the pics I showed(bad pics) shows a partridge rooster and hens(eb brown and pattern gene Pg) seems like the pics dont show the red wing triangle..so here is a better pic of them(Partridge wyandotte)

Black Breasted Red is just a phenotype(how a birds look) this phenotype can be achieved with wheaten(eWh), Brown(eb) gold Duckwing(e+) and if you dont mind black wing triangle then Brown Red Brichen(ER) but thats for males, hens look different

OK This is a very colorful conversation (to say the least,LOL) thanks for the clarification Marvin so partridge (pg) is a pattern then, I got that, Brown/red(crow-wing) is birchen, I got that, and Brown(eb) is not the same a Brown red, but the hens are similar in appearance right? brown bodied /gold/red hackles.
