My Canada geese have always been the quietest, least aggressive (not talking about trying to sneak up and take an egg or gosling - then they try to kill you and are very strong with LONG razor sharp claws.) They never used them on me, however. They are fine with chickens - if a chicken comes right up to the goose, Goosie will run them off, but she doesn't disturb them. If my Welsh Harlequin ducks are currently using the toddler pool, Goosie will run them off - they wait until she naps somewhere else! Some of the answers above seemed to be like my Mom's - her opinion, not facts. I've had Canada geese for several years. I can tell you all about the wild ganders and when we let them fly off, if they wanted to and on and on.. There are Roman Tufteds on the ranch also. But we've moved into a tiny SD town on the border of ND, so I'm trying to find just a female friend for Goosie. I tried the diapers etc and poop was pretty much thrown here and there. Canadas really seem to poop more than domestic geese - does anyone else find this to be true?
I wouldn't take Canada geese advice from someone who hasn't had at least a couple of years of experience with them. Good Luck & God Bless Us Everyone!
The message that was heard around the world! LOL!! too funny
