What is really funny is that my two year old Golden Retriever thinks that she is the momma chicken to all the babies. When I bring them into the front room to clean their butts off and check them over, she lays down next to me and puts her head next to the blanket I set them on. She also lays at the door between the kitchen and garage and comes to nudge me when the chicks start peeping really loud...(They are in the garage in their giant deluxe brooder).

The only breed I didn't get that I'm kinda bummed about is the cochin. I -really- wanted one....

Chicks as they arrived yesterday morning at 6:00am -

Chicks in their brand new brooder -

And what is their favorite thing in the brooder? The thermometer!!!!!!-

Funniest thing I've ever seen. They -love- it. Some sleep on it....some peck at it. They try to move it around the brooder. Apparently it makes a great toy. They like the neon-colored golf balls too.

yeah mine like to poo on the thermometer...they also like to fall asleep INSIDE their feeder see:

LoL....that's pretty funny! I enjoy just sitting and watching them in the brooder. They do all sorts of craziness.

I read someplace that the chicks like to peck and push golf balls around. I only had neon pink and yellow so I gave it a shot and they really like them.
