questions about pictures upload vs privacy?

If you upload pictures to backyard chickens, they'll just either be attached to whatever post you attach it to or they'll be in "strangeanimal's gallery". The only way your full name will get on anything is if you add it. Or are you talking about EXIF information that comes from your camera? Do you have your name in your camera?

I'm a little unclear what happened last time. External harddisks are still "part of the computer" when they are attached, or are your photos on a cloud service? If the latter, you'll need to look up what that service does with them. I know I once put Picasa on a computer and it automatically trawled through every picture and image on my computer without asking. All sorts of rubbish got "sucked up" into it. If you are using Picasa and have your photos online anywhere near google, google will probably keep publishing anything you would prefer to be kept private.
