two chicks are about as easy as one! even 14 chicks only need to be fed like three times a day...


so if you CAN get another baby, i would


if you cant its ok! just get him a mirror and/or a few stuffed animals!


and i think its great that you hold it a lot, most people don't care too much...


remember though... having a chicken is not like a goldfish... he needs time to run outside when hes older and you have to watch him!

Spur bumps are on girls and boys, so you won't be able to tell till it grows up some more.

As for a friend, 2-3 hours, even 6-12 might not be enough really, since normally it would have mom for 24/7 or other friends 24/7. A lonly chick often doesn't thrive well because it doesn't have team encouragement to eat. So if you can try to get a friend, it would be for the best. Single chicks can be done, but usually it is best to have more if you can for their mental well being.
