This is my time hatching eggs. I have 45 eggs in the incubator that are Serama, Old English Bantam, and Modern Game Bantam. Last night one started chirping and rocking back and forth it did until I fell asleep. I got up this morning and it chirped and moved for just a little while but nothing since. Is it just resting and could it have died? I also had one start rocking around this morning and even made a little crack in the egg but nothing else yet. There are a few more that will rock ever so sightly every once in awhile. How long does it normally take for them to come out of the egg once they start rocking? I so can't wait for them to hatch. My wife and kids are just excited as I am. My wife and I have been glued to the incubator all day. The kids will be home from school in just a little bit I bet I will not be able to pry them away.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

LOL, hatching nerves!

It can take 24 hours or more from pip to hatch.

Well as of this morning we have six little babies. 5 Seramas and 1 Old English. I am thinking my humidity is to high though. It is holding steady at 78- 80 and the little chicks don't seem to be drying. I just pulled the two plugs on top to see if I can get it down a little.

So far I have had two of the Serama pass away.

The other four seem to be doing fine. There is no sign of nothing with the other 39 eggs.

I wonder what is up with them.
