Quick incubator temp question...

The waiting is crazy isn't it. We are day 21 with our latest hatch too - got up to find 2 fluffies hatched but no sign of anything else - out of 30 eggs. Won't be happy with that percentage after getting 75% last time! I'm keeping my fingers crossed you get some arrivals soon.

Regarding eggs, sounds like your young hens are laying what all of ours start out with too - miniature eggs. Some of the very first ones of ours don't have yolks, but then they start producing the tiniest little yolks in them, takes a lot to make an omelette but they sure are cute!

my incubator let me down badly :( it was going great up untill hatching day then it read it was too hot and started blowing cold air even though it was freezing inside the bator, lost all my eggs very dissappointed :( have left it off for a few days but its doing the same saying its too hot so not heating has anybody any ideas? the little temperature probe inside is working as i put hot and cold on it too see and the reading moves but for some reason its not heating up when left alone just reading too hot :(

Sorry about your troubles, tiredt. The only thing I could think it might be is a fault in the gage. I don't know how to fix that.

Final update: The eggs never hatched. At eggtopsy the only two of eggs had developed enough to try hatching. However, there were no internal pips. It is s sad day at our house.

I haven't given up on this incubator, yet. It has been cleaned and sterilized for another hatch. My hens started laying during this last hatch. So, I plan to set the eggs for a valentine hatch. I don't think I will be getting any high end breeder eggs for this one, though. Until all the kinks are worked out i will use my own backyard mutts. So far i have 16 eggs. A couple of the eggs are a bit oddly shaped, a bit elongated and perfectly round and tiny, so they are experimental. I will collect until Friday and set on Saturday. I hope to have about 24 eggs by then. Right now I am running thr bator through its paces, checking for hot and cold spots.

Since the eggs did not hatch this will be my last post on this thread. As long as the bator and eggs are ready by Saturday, I will probably join the Valentine hatch along. Thanks for reading.

I hate to hear that. My first attempt at incubating was with a Little Giant. Some of the problems were my mistakes, some were the wild temperature fluctuations, but I also had poor results. Better luck on your next hatch
