Do black oegb's have white ear lobes? This is a McMurray chick - 3 months old, definitely a cockeral. Legs are black, single red comb and white ear lobes. Same with female of same breed. Thought they might be white faced black Spanish? Thanks for helping.

Well.. Hatchery birds can come white earlobed, and brown eyes.. Which is more of a dutch characteristic, but they are only supposed to come single comb, red earlobes, and red eyes. (From what i've heard, i think it depends on the variety.. But the "perfect OEGB" is described to have 'EYES: Large, bold, fiery and fearless').

So I wonder...when they are young, how do you tell the difference between a black oegb and a white faced black Spanish (if an oegb can, indeed, have white ear lobes)?

Should have a bigger body, bigger earlobes, comb, etc. But i guess it'd depend on the age they are? Plus the white faced spanish i saw had a light black leg color..

I don't know how old this post is, but I have a pair of Black OEGB bantams, I sent pictures of them to a former breeder/shower to make sure that is what they are. mine have brilliant blue ear patches. They are about 3 1/2 months old.
