Quick question about dog food for momma dogs

look at the food labels not the brand..you will find Diamond and pedigree and Iams are the same as some of your cheaper brands, but they can cost more because of the name

The Diamond varieties that I buy have better ingrediants and are corn free which are just a cheap filler for the cheaper brands. I agree look at the labels.....if corn is one of the first 3 ingrediants ( or even on the ingrediant list as far as I'm concerned) pass that brand on by. I think the Diamond Brand is very reasonably priced for the quality of food you're getting. Another thing to keep in mind, the better the ingrediants the less they need to eat of it (altho a nursing mom is going to eat a lot of what ever you're feeding her) and the less that comes out the other end.

Yes- good food = less poop! I heard you should also pay attention to the oils in the food. Olive oil is better than vegetable oil, and such. When my brother went from Iams to Eukanuba for his German Shorthair- the dog looked like he was wet! Soooo shiny!

I hope the Lamb & rice for mom (instead of puppy food) for the first few days doesn't effect the pups! Well-doesn't look like it, they're so fat!
Thanks everyone
