Quick question on egg carton incubating

Just seems like a lot of work for 3 days or so? you can't just let the bulb hang for now somewhere in the middle?
I'm just guessing here you would know best....from the picture it basically looks like a small garbage container in style...tall and skinny?

They are only about 4 inches high in the inside.

I put a can lid tacked to a piece of underlayment in there and that helped but, it wasn't enough. I have a small air purifier that has a really low fan setting. I'm playing with how far apart I should set them up. The fan is working to circulate the air. I need to get the temp adjusted for those two spots and then do a check elsewhere in the wipe bator and see if it will work. I'm hoping to set those eggs this afternoon.

wow only 4 inches inside?! so sounds like the same as container baby wipes come in?.....I'm surprised you fit a bulb in there! is it 4" by 6" container approx?
hmmm I don't know Kitty...doesn't sound good to me

I must be thinking of wrong container....just about any bulb would be nearly touching the eggs. Sorry.

Fan is not working. I'm just not going to be able to use those two spots by the bulb for eggs.

I'll post pics with the eggs in there after I put them in.

Oh, the bulb is one of those skinny ones that the end is the same size as a nightlight bulb. You can buy replacement sockets for the little lamps that use them. So that is what I have in there.

No, I won't risk it. I'm also not sure how wrapping them would affect their temps, etc. I'll just put in what I can into the wipe bator and move them over later. Maybe the rest I will then set into the wipe bator and see how it does or mark them and have the wipe bator ready for them when the first group is ready to hatch.

Wishing you all the best!

Anything from the panbator...rocking etc?
I have a small recorder that is actually a keychain...so I recorded my new chicks chirping to play to the eggs lol
candled them all again and some are very 'full'.
I did have a heat spike yesterday..my sleeve must have turned the heat dial! it was at 121 for about 10 minutes

may have just killed them.
Knew I should have ducktaped that dial!!

That is high but, I have read that it takes the about 20 minutes for the eggs to adjust to a new temp so maybe they didn't adjust to high.

When are your's due to hatch?

Nothing in the pan bator yet.

Well that would be good...I just wish my sleeve had turned it down instead of up!
I figure the hatch date is next thurday...but...I may be off on some of these 'full' looking eggs.
I find the sides of panbator would be hot if chicks stumble into it...so today I plan on taking the wire rack right out and lining the entire thing with towels...right up and over the sides...then placing the lid back down on the overhanging towels.
Will give more floor space too if I do get any to hatch.

You're not afraid that the towels hanging out will steal heat? If it does you could roll them up around the inside edges of the pan. I'm glad your's looked good at candling.
