Quick - Roast chicken carcass...

OMGosh, you guys are making me hungry. And like Wildsky I'm not the best cook. Carrie, can we get a step by step on that Pot Pie recipe if yours? Please. And do you make your own crust? That's where I might have to draw the line.

You all make cooking sound so easy.

I wish I could make a pie crust myself!! I use those refrigerated pie crusts that are all ready rolled out for me. You find them by the canned biscuits. I had made my stock per Miss Prissy's directions. Then I diced up half a large onion and put it in a bit of olive oil in a heavy pot. Salt and peppered the onion and fried until transluscent. I then diced up three potatoes and put them in the pot and added one quart of stock and put a lid on and boiled the potatoes until soft..about 10 min or so. I then added a can of corn, a can of mushroom soup, about a fourth of a cup of flour..to thicken..put in the chicken that was now cooled from the making the stock and heated thoroughly. I poured it into a deep pie dish and covered it with the pie crust..baked till crust was golden brown (everything else was already cooked). I baked at 350` for about thirty minutes. Oh, I always brush milk over my pie crusts. My dh said it was the best he has ever had in his life. Now I am like a peacock around here.

I would have taken a picture but half the pie is gone now. ha ha
If I ever learn to make a great flaky pie crust.............I would be on cloud nine.

You go girl...just don't put any water in it. Now I have been cooking with beef or chicken stock out of a box up till now. From now on it is going to be homemade!! You won't believe the difference!!
Oh, I would have preferred a can of peas in my pie but dh hates peas!!

Since this great thread is active again I'd like to say since originally reading
this I am on my 4th pot of crock pot 24 hour soup.

2 1/2 quarts of the best soup I've ever made from another fried turkey carcuss,
2 onions, 6 celery stalks, 8 carrots(love carrots), 10 cloves of garlic, salt and lots
of pepper, and a crock pot we've owned for 3 years and only used once (until this
thread).

As I'm picking through the pile of cooked meat and vegies to put back it the
soup I'm chewing on and eating the bones. They are SO soft and tasty!!!!
