Unfortunately there is more than one form of Lyme disease and there is also the co infections to worry about like Babesiosos. What I found interesting was reading recently about a frozen ancient human, possibly a cave man that was found and thawed and when they did microscopic exams of his genetic makeup they found a marker for Lyme on his DNA. The $&*#@! stuff actually marks its victims genetically! Anyone who has had Lyme will tell you how miserable it is. Wish it on your worst enemy? That would depend on the enemy......
I argued with somebody once, probably a deep inner city type who has never set foot in a forest about ticks. They claimed that you could only pick up ticks on grass because that's the only place they hung out. I countered with , then tell that to the tick I saw yesterday right by the hand I had resting on a tree at shoulder height and the one I killed that was crawling up one of our barn posts. It's estimated that around us if you lean against a tree longer than 45 seconds you stand a chance of having a tick get on you.
Second thought for the day:
I HATE TICKS!
WOW NOW I REALLY HATE TICKS! Yeah ticks definitely aren't just on grass they get on anything you could possibly brush up against so they can get on you! Yeah no offense to the city folk I know not everyone is like this but I hate it when they say they know this or that about the forest WHEN THEYVE NEVER LIVED IN THE FOREST! That's like saying,"I've never had cake before but I know it's horrible." DVHGUGJGYYYRTE?!!?!?
