It's finally been a bit sunny today, and now, it's getting cloudy again..here comes the rain, weeks in a row. We need it though.

We went to visit the landmark big tree in a local forrest yesterday and I took some pics for all you tree and nature lovers.

That "carve your name in this stump" idea is interesting. On one hand it promotes / encourages graffiti, but on the other it makes it clear that people should NOT do it on the living trees. I wonder how effective that is at deterring long term?

And to think, somewhere out there in one of our canyons, is a heart with mine and anothers initials carved inside that heart. Waaay back in the 70's. Didn't think we were doing anything wrong. When the tree grows, the carving gets bigger of course. It was on an Aspen. A lot of those up in our canyons.
