"In brush or bushes," said Dawnpaw with confidence.Cardinalflutter took this question as a teaching opportunity. “Well,” she said, “where do you think the most prey will be?”
Coldshard nodded like he was explaining this to a kit.Heronpaw muttered to herself, "He's making it pretty clear he doesn't want you near him..."
Cougarpounce looked at him sharply. "What, do you think we're here to inspect bugs? He mewed. "We're here to hunt. Real prey." He added quickly."Respect? I'll show them respect once I know whether they have a way out of this or have summoned us for no good reason," Coldshard snapped.
"Well?" Beetlepaw asked.
"Oh good," said Beetlepaw. "We've done that before. So, are we going to do it or are you going to keep wanting a bigger response out of me?"Cougarpounce looked at him sharply. "What, do you think we're here to inspect bugs? He mewed. "We're here to hunt. Real prey." He added quickly.
Cardinalflutter gave her an approving nod. "There certainly will be more ground dwelling prey where the undergrowth is lush. But also remember, that prey has to eat just like us, so we are going to a place plentiful with nuts. Mice, squirrels, and I'm hoping even some birds will be there." She mewed."In brush or bushes," said Dawnpaw with confidence.
But Cougarpounce had already turned away, padding after Dawnpaw and Cardinalflutter."Oh good," said Beetlepaw. "We've done that before. So, are we going to do it or are you going to keep wanting a bigger response out of me?"
Beetlepaw trotted after him.But Cougarpounce had already turned away, padding after Dawnpaw and Cardinalflutter.
Coldshard glared back. I'm not going to talk anymore, I hope you're happy.Thunderwave hadn't taken part in any of the arguments. He was a laid back tom, and very easy going. But he couldn't help feeling he should help to settle the disputes. How could they fulfill any prophecy if they couldn't even get along amongst themselves? He cast a glance at Coldshard, trying to catch his eye.
