That is a GREAT idea for the eggs!! I think I'm going to go do that right now

The dividers just don't completely satisfy me. They are fine if you have just the right size eggs to fill the space, but I have noticed that I need to "fix" the position of my eggs every now and then. Other wise, out of about 12 silkie duck eggs, 12 are developing

I have a king suro 20. Have my second lot in there now. First hatch was 100%. I now have turkey eggs and am about to add chicken eggs today too them. Last hatch was all chicken eggs. Only draw back I find and this is with all incubators not just this type is because i live is a very humid climate. Some times trying to keep the humidity to 45% or so is near impossible for me. Mine never needs water until lock down.

I bought the suro 20 and followed the instructions through, taking care to do the in/ out pumping system correctly. The problem I have now is with humidity on the digital reader. I have a reading of 37.5 for temp which is fine, but then the humidity is stuck on 25% and everything I do to raise it fails. I increased the speed dial, took the tube out from between the yellow foam, changed my water, opened up the pumping system dial to make sure tubes were fitted on to the ends...I don't know what else to do. It does appear that there is water in the in tube, & none in the out tube...and my mid-tube was pre-cut to 3.5 cm. I would appreciate any help. Thank you :eek:}

Is the tube fitted through the wheel properly? I know that wasn't easy to do. Also, you do need to let the pump run for quite a while in order to get the water through the "out" tube and into the incubator...

Thanks 4 responding firstly. Well I've had the machine switched on for a week. It might be the little 3.5cm tube but I wouldn't know how 2 manipulate it because it's so tightly stretched, I will try to move it around a bit now & see if there are any developments! Here's hoping...

Mine had to be primed to get it started, otherwise it wasn't going anywhere, but once that was done its been maintaining the humidity perfectly.

Going good, been running empty a couple weeks to test it out, the humidity and temp are like a rock, set the temp for 99.5 and its stayed between 99.5 and 100, I was worried a bit with our drafty old house but its remained stable. Once the humidity pump is figured out its a nice unit.

Hi everyone,

I go into lockdown today with my first "start-to-finish" hatch in my Suro. It has been running constantly since I got it in mid January as I have been trying to do serial hatches and the Suro is PERFECT keeping temps and humidity. This hatch will have 17 [unless I have to toss some when I candle this evening] bantam Ameracauna eggs - shipped. I started w/26, had to toss 4 clears and 5 quitters w/blood rings day 10. I plan to cut the middle out of my 24 cell cardboard egg flat so that the eggs are arranged around the perimeter. I didn't have any problem w/the humidity cone w/these tiny eggs, not sure what might have happened if I FILLED it w/LF eggs! I will be posting progress reports and pictures in the "FEBRUARY HATCH-ALONG, come join in" thread [ https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=3680329#p3680329][/url]

I absolutely
