Oh Helen, :aww I am so very sorry for your loss. He looked like such a sweet littl bunny. Im sure his gal is sad from loseing him as well. Yes, I would get her a new friend as soon as possible. Is there a shot to protect them from this virus? How awfull. Just be glad in knowing, he had a GREAT mum and a wonderfull life with you. RIP little one....and GODS speed!
Yes, I wish I knew what did it.
He was heading into the burrow, which in itself is NOT like him, the doe was the one who used to get in there.
Perhaps he knew he was unwell and was going in there to rest in peace.
He has never been unwell, he has never tried to scratch or bite me even though he didnt enjoy being picked up.
When children would come to visit, they always spotted him and wanted to pat him so I would pick him up so they could feel his soft fur.
He gave lots of joy.
I'm so sorry! I read your other thread and have been wondering about him. I feel so badly for you, his mate and for him. Rabbits are such sweet beings.
He had such a good life with you. I hope you can find the right bunny, when the time is right, to give Scratchy some bunny companionship again.
I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a beautiful bunny.
My best friend had both her rabbits die suddenly on the same day. They were fine in the morning and when she came home they were both gone. They were in a hutch securely locked in so it wasn't a predator. Nobody knows why or how it happened.
