I'm considering buying a rabbit hutch to use for one of my silkies. She has to be separated from the others for a few weeks, and I've been keeping her inside at night in a dog crate with wood shavings, so she's comfortable, and outside in a wire pen during the day (I don't like her having to stand on the wire all day), and right now, she's in another pen on the ground, where she can eat grass, and socialize with a roo I put in there with her.
Anyway, I've been looking at some rabbit hutches, and I've seen some I like, but a lot of them have the wire bottoms.. a few don't. Does anyone here use something like a rabbit hutch for any of your chickens? Wire bottom or not? I'd prefer not, so I can add the wood shavings. Any good links where I can get a nice one? I'd personally prefer not to spend over $200, if possible, but if it's large enough, I could always use it to pair up chickens later or something.
This is kind of what I have in mind. Think it would work??
It looks to have something clear covering the wire bottom...
I'm also buying paint for a coop this upcoming week, so I could buy enough to paint the hutch too, to help it last.
