Rabbit v's chicken..

Put it this way, I bred my rex's this week, and the buck was so horny he didn't care if he mounted the front or the back of the doe.

Does that give you a hint.

rabbits = horndogs

I'd keep them separated. You don't want your hen defiled by a horny rabbit. Even if he doesn't catch her, he'll chase her round and round until he does or she falls over dead.

Yes I seem to recall a similar incident when I had 2 rabbits in my early twenties....had to get one put to sleep as the 'Tim nice but dim' buck got the wrong end and poked her eye out during a session.

Will keep him under lock and key.

We have rabbits and chickens but they all have seperate "living quarters".

We have a Rhinelander buck who is an escape artist. The last time he got out, I'd twisted my knee and had trouble catching him so he was a yard rabbit for several days. He'd follow Pepper (our female red merle Aussie) and I all over the yard, like a puppy. At one point, he thought about romancing Pepper while she was taking a nap...one good bark put an end to his advances and he was captured a few hours later.

None of our critters are "normal" either.

I have small silkies and I have a hen right now with 3 day old chicks. They were in the back yard yesterday with my daughters 2 month old rabbit. They got along fine, but I realize my bunny is very small compared to what yours probably is. I can't imagine a rabbit trying to harm a chicken. If anything I would guess it to be the other way around. Good Luck with your love birds.

nope it wasn't 'tim nice but dim'...he was fine....lady bunny had serious injuries. I have to add that she was a dwarf lop and he was a massive french lop...like a small dog to be honest.
