had a raccoon at the chicken door before flight pen was built. How do I keep him away when they go outside?

Most of the time coons hunt dusk till dawn so you have that in your favor. Start setting a trap but play with the trigger so it activates very easily and be sure to anchor it so it cannot be tipped over. Otherwise look into electric fence and step in posts

I suppose shooting them, I have had to resort to this after live trapping didn't work. Our friend hunts raccoons so I let him have it.

i go with trapping because i have chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, guineas, etc., but my dad brought me home a rcaoon and i had to bottle feed it and then it went on hard food, and it was raised around my birds, but then i realized they DONT want to eat our birds, they just have to to survive. but please dont kill it!!!
