I have my 3 heaviest Jesery Giants tagged

My heaviest weighed in at 672 g. He is also my least attractive to my untrained eye. I have asked the Jersey Giant Thread for their opinion.

The next 2 both weigh 623g. They have redder better looking combs.

They are tagged, so i will contiune to evaluate

So FYI the Excel App is not user friendly. But after playing with it for an evening, i have a graph. It did not reveil any surprises, but is still interesting to see.

4.5 weeks and they're starting to get a bit of shape about them.

Moved them to a larger coop & run at the weekend

This will keep them happy for a week then I will be opening the hatch into paddock and they can free range.

I let them out after 3 days in there new pen.
They are 6 week now and weigh an average of 1.03 - 1.07kg so are progressing well.

The birds are now 8 weeks. I missed weigh in on Wednsday because i lost my scale. Found it yesterday and so got the weugh in today instead.
Rainbow Dixies

They weigh an average of 1376 grams or 3.03 lbs.


Red Rangers

They weigh an average of 1567 grams (i have one bird that weighed in at 1266 i suspect a hen got mixed in with the cockerels and did not count her in the average) or 3.45 lbs.


Jersey Giants

They weigh an average of 814 g or 1.79 lbs.

I did not get the layers weights, they are now with my hens and got out before i could weigh them.

I would have to agree...just look at the stance and structure of those birds. Very nice...MEATY build.

I have only 4 pullets in the batch so will be keeping them back for breeding.
Starting to look for the 2 lucky males that I'm keeping.
