Pretty sure big blue here is a cockerel. Can't wait to see his color development as he grows.

Thanks, i have really worked hard on it. My next project will be a big goat shed. This siding takes a while to put on but should have good insulating properties. It is going to look like a cosy cabin in the woods!

Bwahahaha - you will most definitely NOT find support for this decision here. I have started to figure that I sell fertile eggs and "unique" mixed chicks for way more than I sell eggs for eating. So, I probably should at least have one batch in the bator or under a broody as long as I have eggs around. Also, I can pick the fun looking ones for myself! :)

Making some bernard cooper morons? :lau

The last egg that was left under my silkied seramas last Tuesday got put in the incubator. Came home from fishing all day today, and it's pipped! I sure hope the girls will still accept it!
 
I'm all about the designer chicks... Bernard mixes, Black Copper Morons... I tell ya, the next Martin Silverudd is ready to make her move on the international chicken scene. And then, I shall have the right to be a know-it-all on Facebook. :lau


eta: to catch you guys up, my auto correct changed "Barnyard" mix to Bernard or Bernhardt or some name like that, then when I went to edit it, I screwed something up and lost the thread. So somewhere on BYC I'm either an idiot, or "in the know" about this new and unique mix. The reference to "morons" is our favorite spelling of Marans. :)
