Ya I'm a big John Wayne fan to loved Mclintock have 2 hens named Mrs Warren (nice rust red hybrid) and another more colourful hen (think black red and green colour) called Mrs Mclintock suits her to she bossy and picked on Mrs Warren till I got the chicken blinder things. An thnx for the head up on beer can chicken think I might try something like that but with Newcastle Brown Ale.

We have five kids, last, the only boy DW went into labor and we still didn't have a name for him. In the delivery room there they had a TV, turned it on and it was a John Wayne movie, The Searchers, his name in it was Ethan, so DW says how about Ethan? Yup, sounds good lol.

I loved Rooster Cogburn!

I liked the original True Grit best but the Jeff Bridges one was really good also. Just wish he used his normal voice, think it kinda threw it off him trying to sound 'growly'. John Wayne didn't sound growly, just had his voice.
Only complaint I have on the newer version, Bridges using a fake voice.

Original was definitely better. John Wayne can't be topped.

Should have added I liked the kid playing Maddy better in the 2nd, though. Slightly less scatterbrained and more believable.

I hated the idea of a John Wayne movie being remade (big classic fan think 7 brides for 7 brothers or Doris day etc) I did hear it was good so might watch it.. at lest if I do complain bout it lest I can say I saw it. And beer can that's funny I would have shot chili sauce through my nose so I could have even heard a tv when I was in labor all I heard was chicks screaming the baby is coming and the nurse is like ya it's coming but not this sec your not even fully in labor yet followed by the soon to be mom going well can I got outside and have a smoke then.

Well just spoke to the hubby he wants to make our own chicken plucker so it will have to be green so that means hand cranked or cranked via bike. It has to last a few years so plastic it has to be cheap in parts most the stuff the family has and want to get rid of can't get cheaper then free can ya..

Yep, that's how I have done it in the past. Just a fast dip
