what kinda treats can I introduce to 6-8 week old chicks? and why are their tails down, and what can I do for a chick who is bald in places? seems like lacking something. He is like a ugly duckling but so cute!

You can give them mealworms, and some fruit & veggie scraps (not too many!). Just avoid things like potatoes, chocolate, avocados and citrus. Could you post a picture of what you mean by their tails being down?
Sometimes chicks go bald, or not all of their "adult" feathers are in, when they are around this age. Think of them as teenage chickens It's completely normal, especially in slower feathering breeds.

Ty- the chix have had tails down as long as i can remember the last 3 weeks I have had them. I know in adults that is a bad thing! Here is a chick-

silver laced wyandotte..it is sooo cute it will b second pic. he is patchy not like the others were I think he is like 2 weeks younger but they put them in with senior pullets!

My chicks and chickens go nuts for mealworms! I feel like we kind of spoiled them though lol. We give them mealworms almost every day, they are just so adorable its hard not to. Once in a while we give them a bag of crickets from the pet store. We dump it in their brooder box, everyone goes crazy for those! Another treat they love is some scratch. I let them eat it out of my hand.

He actually looks like a golden laced Wyandotte, but still very handsome!
As their tails grow in, they may hold them up more. However, in some breeds, it’s normal. Even if they have lower tails than normal for their breed, as long as you aren’t showing or breeding for show, the low tails will not interfere with their lives. They look very happy and healthy!

sweet! we just bought chic desert but i like doing live meal worms and crickets. it use to b a holiday tradition here
