Raising chicks with silkie flock

I have a flock of 4 silkie chickens. 1 rooster, 2 hens and a full grown youngster who I don’t know the gender of. One of my hens hatched 6 chicks and I was wondering if I could let her take care of her chicks with the flock. The others have seen them and just looked and them and did not show any signs of aggression and the mother is very feisty, she try’s to pick fights with my german shepherd through the fence. So I doubt she would back down to another chicken. Should the chicks be safe with her in the coop with the flock, or should I separate the mother and chicks from the rest of the flock.

I would leave them with the flock and just keep an eye on them. Momma bird should do a good job at protecting them.
