Yeah it does.

Save money for other stuff you will need and want. Buy 1 lamp and 1 light. Tractor Supply, Rural King has it all. Check out the prices of what they have. Offer to your parents to sale eggs to help pay for a heated brooder. You can always look on amazon or Craigslist or Thrift Stores for stuff.

Not near me, but I could get it delivered. How do I lower/raise the heat? By moving the bulb farther/closer?

Look at the Chicken supplies at Tractor supply. Make a list of what you will need and what you will want. This will give you a good idea of costs. Look at the Hardware Cloth (Not Chicken wire), look at the coops they have. Look at the specific dimensions they give.. often they will tell you to sale you the coop that it will hold 9 chickens. But, they lie. Because you now know exactly how big your coop and run must be.
