Hey y'all!
I already have a small flock of ducks, but I want to add one or two goslings this year. I also am adding a couple of new ducklings at the same time that I'd be adding the goslings. Does anyone have experience raising goslings with ducklings? And how do goslings raised with ducklings interact with grown ducks when introduced?
Thank you so much for any advice/input!

Definitely get at least two if you do get goslings, since they are social animals and need to have companions of their own kind.

You can definitely raise them with ducks and they do very well together. Last year one of my goslings grew up with a batch of Call ducklings and he loves them. They all get along very well now.

The only trouble you might run into is if you get a gander he may decide that the female ducks would make good mates and try to mate with them, and due to his larger size he may hurt them.

Geese also get hormonal during breeding season and I have read some stories of them killing ducks when the ducks tried to mate in front of them. This time of year my geese will absolutely chase the rooster off a hen if he tries to mate with one or make a big racket about the ducks mating, so I could see how a very aggressive gander could kill a duck.

So splitting them up during goose breeding season might be something you want to plan around possibly having to do.

Thank you! I only have female ducks (as I raise them for eggs) and will be getting female goslings and ducklings this year, so mating season shouldn't be an issue for my flock. Again thank you so much for your input (especially about getting multiple goslings)! I feel more safe about raising them with ducks now!

I hope you enjoy them!

Also, hello from a fellow Vermonter! I just realized that you're also in VT :)

Did you get your babies yet? I have 2 female ducks and pick up 2 goslings, this week. I *think* I'm ready....
