Ramp into henhouse

I just took a 1x10 board and nailed a few 1x1 pieces to it to give the chickens something to get footing with and attached it to the edge of the coop pop out door.

I saw where someone had taken 4x4 or 6x6 post sections and buried them vertically 2 abreast. The tallest two next to coop, with subsequent pairs at decreasing heights. I liked the fact there is nothing attached directly to the coop, and it is easy to find short lengths of leftover posts (i.e. cheap).

The ramp's for the chickens to into the coop. I made the chicken door a wee bit on the small side and thus far my hens won't jump up to it. They will jump into the coop if the human door's open though. Do y'all think 6 inches is wide enough for a ranch. I do have some 2 x 6s lying around.

Mine have a 16" high jump so I put a 36" board going at a slope to it. It is attached with a hinge so when we move the tractor it's out of the way.
