RAN OUT OF CHICK STARTER!!! please help asap

Got the chick starter, but the chickies don't seem to like it. They won't eat the chunks and are scratching and kicking it all around just trying to get to the fine powder. Also, they are sometimes fighting over and eating their own poop before I can get it cleaned up! Are these normal behaviors?!

I would post a new thread for this. More people will probably reply.

If they get hungry enough, they will eat it. Changes in feed takes time for some. If the poop looks normal then all is good.

I would start a new thread here....

https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/raising-baby-chicks.11/

Things to include....
Chicks ages
Brand of feed
Age of feed

One thing I will suggest.....

Sometimes the "chunks" are to big for the age/breed of chicks. If you mix some with warm water it will become a mash that is easier to eat. Do not mix a ton and change it out every couple hours to prevent spoilage.

By the way, the chick starter crumble I used was way too big when my chicks were younger. I put it in a plastic bag and crushed it up with a hammer until they grew.
