Ran out of Starter/Grower!!

This week I was forced to feed 10 wk old chicks and 6 wk old chicks layer crumbles. Will they be okay on this for a short period of time??

are they laying yet?
they will just have to eat it
I guess it won't hurt them as they will be on laying pellets in a few weeks
it is just not as high in protein as the starter grower
may cause a difference in the manure keep a watch

They are not even close to laying yet. TSC was out of feed and all they had was 16% layer crumbles so I bought it. I was really concerned because my RIR's are just 4 weeks old!! Thanks for your input.

it would be no different than feeding hens with chicks the layer feed
16% is a comfortable protein for chicks
so don't worry
I imagine people would say that they will get too much calcium
but I raised chicks with hens on that feed
