These 7 eggs are currently in the hatching incubator on lockdown! They are due to hatch by 12/21!

*Very expensive shipped silkie eggs, really hoping these two hatch! Both have kind of saddled air cells but I believe the chicks were alive and okay when I put them in lockdown.

Egg 24 has hatched - something I have never seen before - a blue (????) NN silkie with pink skin Idk what is going on with these pink skinned chicks. I’ll post a pic of the mom who is a paint. She did have kind of pinkish skin at hatch if I remember correctly (it was over 4 years ago) but it darkened up quite a bit. And that seems to be kind of normal with paints. But a blue chick with pink skin?? Also I am so confused about where the blue came from Thus far, lots of mysteries coming from my flock!

Yes to eggnog!! Love it!! Here are the other names you suggested- Gingerbread, Holly, Mistletoe, Pinecone. I want to use them too! Should we assign them to random eggs or pick the best name after seeing each chick?

@Cheekychook11 I love all the names! I went ahead and just assigned names to everyone. Some of them are pretty dumb because I did Santa and reindeer for one batch and 12 days of Christmas for one batch. I’m open to changing names, and especially on the ones that I end up keeping if needed
