Random menagerie Christmastime hatch-a-long

Pics
And we have a pip on #14 Sugarplum!!! @TIckingThymeBomb Hoping so hard that your chick will be hatching today!!!!

Last night the 2 OE eggs hatched #27 Cranberry and #28 Poinsettia - both are black NN chicks! Poinsettia has gold eyebrows!

#26 OE Pinecone hasn’t pipped yet and the shell is so dark that I haven’t been able to candle at all. So I don’t know if this chick will make it out.

Congrats on all the cuties!! Love the names (I changed my account)
Thanks @Cheekychook12! So glad you are back with the new account!!

Poor Pinecone didn’t make it. He internally pipped but never externally pipped. And because the olive eggs are so dark I can’t tell what is going on inside I couldn’t see. When I opened the egg up, I discovered another black chick with NN. Poor thing.

I'm sorry about Pinecone, it's always so hard to know about helping them out or not and if he didn't have the strength the externally pip he may have had a developmental issue.

:hugs

Poor pinecone, sucky things happen with chicks sometimes
Just focus on all the other little chickies

Thanks guys. I’m feeling so grateful that the other chicks have been hatching so well, but sad that Pinecone couldn’t make it out. But this has been my most successful hatch in a long time so I am really glad. But my son is so super super ill today (worried we may have to go to the hospital tomorrow) so it has been kind of a downer day. Thankful that the lavender chickie hatched though and all the others before her! Counting my blessings!!

What are you going to do with all those chickies? Keeping them all?

I wish you luck with your son, he can recover and play with baby chickies
