@Cheekychook11 look at Tinsel (the paint!!) I’m in love

Bauble the other NN and the BYM are white with the weird silver tint. I had some of these chicks in my last hatch and I guess they were all recessive white. I don’t know where they are coming from I mean I guess I knew that my OE does carry recessive white. And I guess my black silkie NN too must also. But I have no idea which of my silkie hens carries it too. Quite the mystery.

Anyways these are the 4 chicks that have hatched so far. The black one was living alone for a couple of days so this chick is so happy to finally have some buddies.

I got a new brooder set up! It is a folding pen with a mesh zip top. It was $15 on Amazon. I also decided to put in a cookie sheet with silicone mat to contain their food and water. Will see how this goes! It is bigger than the plastic tote I was using before. It also fits perfectly under my kitchen table, so it is kind of tucked out of the way a little bit which is nice!

Also the last egg in lockdown hatched last night. An olive egg and the chick is black!

I now have the next batch of 7 eggs in lockdown! They should hatch in a couple of days.
