According to my urologist Mountain Dew is toxic to kidneys and no-one should be drinking it.
Having just had a kidney stone removed, I tend to agree.

Mountain Dew is the meth of the soda world... Too much sugar and caffeine for me. Occasionally when I need a quick boost I'll crack open a can of the diet stuff (it's less sweet, thank goodness... Regular stuff sets my teeth on edge) because I try to avoid energy drinks, but that's about it.

I've got a friend who's built a "shrine" to Diet Mountain Dew (she buys in bulk, and has literally 30+ 12-can boxes in her garage,) but as for me... I'd much rather have Sprite or Dr. Pepper.

I stopped drinking soda about 30 years ago. I used to love Mountain Dew though. I would ride 5 miles to the grocery store to buy a can of it. Boy it hit the spot.

I jump out of my skin just looking at a can of Mountain Dew. Like others have said the stuff is toxic. Except for an occasional root beer I stay away from soda.

For all you diet soda drinkers out there you may want to read up on those poisons you are putting in your bodies. Artificial sweeteners are not only extremely bad for you, more so than regular sugar, but can have strange affects on your adrenal and other glands.

I like regular mountain dew, but really only drink 1-2 per year--if that. It's not something I keep around the house or order while I'm out.
