He looks like he's about to sweeten your coffee.:lau
No kidding I have one that goes out of her way too poop in my coffee.
Got a mug with a lid...she avoided me for a solid week!
Brought the babies out for a few minutes this morning to explore while having a cup of coffee. Picotee jumped up to check it out.

Since my last post I discovered that 4 of my 8 chicks were roos. . So they went back to my niece's flock (where I got them originally) and now I have 2 pullets from their second batch they hatched. They are 3 weeks younger than the 4 I had. The integration process is slow. I would have kept them in their separate run inside my main run longer but I was worried about the horrible heat wave we have now. 95+ degrees with heat index over 100! I let them all out to free range on Friday and today is Sunday. It's been a week since the new ones arrived and there is no indication of the flock integrating yet. Patience has never been among my virtues so if anyone has any suggestions or words of wisdom/advice I would much appreciate it. Thanks!
Oh, gosh! I am having a similar problem with a chick raised by a broody. I thought mama would integrate her better, but it's been a couple of months now, and she is still picked on. And it's triple digit weather here, too, which is delaying integration of the new chicks, who are plenty old enough. I'm headed out of state next week, so I'm not going to move them out until I get back.

I don't really have much advice. I've only had my flock for about a year now, and I have yet to successfully integrate. That's why I'm going to make that second coop/run. You will have more words of advice for me at this point!

How old are your birds? My original 4 are 1 year, the baby is about 3 months, and the chicks still in the brooder are 5 weeks.

Oh honey, it can take a couple months for them to intergrate a week is a drop in the bucket.
One day you'll look out and they'll all just be together like they were always like that.:)

The oldest are 15/16 weeks and the newbies are 13 weeks. Their sizes are very similar. No eggs yet from anyone, but I didn't expect any until August at the earliest. I guess since the new 2 are actually siblings of one of my original 4 I had hoped they would bond more easily.

Oh thank you for this! I'm a natural worrier and I really want all the girls to be happy. You've given me hope that they will be eventually.

They will. I have no idea how they decide it is time but they do.
I'm watching it happen for the fourth time in three years.
Right now iv'e got two seperate groups running around, one has ten chickens and one has six it has been like that since the end of June.
One day "soon hopefully" i'll have one big sixteen chicken bunch.:)

Here are pics of all the girls. The two new ones are Lily (black head) and Aster. T

he four original ones are Pansy (black), Buttercup (light brahma), Annie (silver Wyandotte), and Rosie (RIR). Pansy is the ringleader and mean girl. LOL Pansy, Lily, and Aster all have the same Swedish flower father and came from my niece's flock. We think Lily and Aster are half Ameraucana or Easter Egger due to the beards.

Yes! Thank you for this! I feel bad for wacky Bryony who has grown a little paranoid being shunned. I built a long shelf along the side of my run. She stays up there much of the day to stay away from the big girls.

Aster and Lily stay up on the high perch in the run also. I had to put a feeder and waterer up there for them. Fortunately, we had rain last night and the temperature has dropped to a much more reasonable 76 for today's high. The girls have been panting for days.
