good for you

If it was me, that woman would be on the ground bleeding.

Well.... not a woman, because I'd never hit one... but if her dad started up he would be, haha.

That type of behavior is unacceptable. I dealt with bullies my entire life, even the thought that a parent would help is beyond me. I think you did the right thing, no doubt. I would have decked her too though, and then ask her if she had enough authority to fix a broken nose.

sonew, don't you dare apologize.

Frustrated control freaks surround us.

Keep your head high.

You deserve a hug for sticking up for your child. If this so called lady had an issue she should have gone to a teacher and complained during the recital and not directly to the child. You did a good thing! (We have those individuals in our small town too that think because their last name is "such and such" that they can do whatever they feel and are the boss...really kind of sad)

You did the right thing..me I would have smashed her and her hubbies face. To be darn who she is, she would have been kissing concrete.

Im so sorry that happened to you

I think the point I meant to make is that just because a person makes it to adulthood, it doesn't mean they deserved to. wait, that sounded harsh. I mean, some people never really grow up.
We teach our children to respect adults, but not all adults are respectable. We also need to teach them that there are 'a lot of kooks out there' and not to take it all to the heart. Just because an adult is up your nose, it doesn't mean you have to take it to the heart. It does not mean they are correct. You reared a good kid. She walked away, she got out of the environment, and yet this person sought her out to have another go at her.
Adults can have issues. Not all kids are bad kids. not all adults are good people.

Exactly the same way. I do NOT stand for adults who hurt children. Whether that's with fists or words attacking a child is WRONG, period.

Her reaction to being called on it is identical to how any other child abuser acts "It's for their own good" "They deserved it" "It's Their Fault" "It's not your business".

I don't even want to think of what that poor woman's child has to go through.

Give your DD a hug from me...
