RANT! Dumb women and Valentine's Day!

The wifes birthday is Febuary 17th. So I always kill two birds with one stone lol. Last year a weekend getaway to the ocean. Usually I either take her out to dinner or cook her dinner. Two years ago cooked Lobster and Fillet Mignon along with a Salad, and for Dessert we had Chocolate Mousse(made it homemade) um shhh I love to cook....keep that very quiet....

I can't believe how expensive a bouquet of roses is now, either. I just tell my hubby to forget it....wait till the end-of-the-summer $5 sales on rose bushes, and let me go on a rose shopping spree! Then I can have all the cut roses I want from May through November!!!!

It's so refreshing to read all these - I thought I was the only one who didn't get all mushy on V-day. The best gift I ever got for it - a leather tool belt! A friend came up today asking what we were doing for V-day and when I said probably just renting a movie and eating popcorn, she was appalled! I just laughed. Like everyone else here, my hubby puts up with all the critters, builds me things when I want them, lets our son's R&R band practice (loudly) in our garage, text messages me in the mornings to tell me he loves me. What more could a girl ask for!?!

I am actually a flowers and jewelry kind of gal, but I don't want it because it's V-day, I want it because HE wants to give it to me. A card on V-day and some nce hugs and a few passionate kisses would do it for me. And if the gals lay eggs I am golden.

DBF's mom suffered a massive heart attack in a movie theatre on our first Valentine's Day together. I clearly remmeber the phone call and the look on his face when he told me. The next day he was on a flight to be at her side... and to make the difficult decision by himself to disconnect her from life support.

We don't "do" Valentine's Day. We do celebrate our love the weekend before, and take extra time throughout the year to remind each other how lucky each of us feels to have the other one in our life.

djackjr, you sound like a catch.

Valentine's day is for women. Did you know there's an equal one for men? Go look it up if you dare, it's not as G-rated as candy and flowers.

V-day is for knowing that TOMORROW you can go pick up chocolate cheap cheap cheap. Love is every day.

I absolutely LOVE getting flowers......not just on V-Day though, all year round.

My husband knows I do not EVER want roses though.....a nice mixed bouquet goes a long way toward brightening the dining room and my mood.

When he really want me happy, he gets me daisies......generally hand picked but that isn't always possible. One winter we had been arguing for days....that afternoon the UPS man arrived with a huge box containing 100 daisies.

I could not be mad anymore!!!!!! He also happens to be the sweetest, sexiest, best husband and father anyone could want.

As for the men who by a present on ANY day just because they have to.....I could do without one of those.

You might change your mind if you ever smelled a David Austin or an Old Garden rose!!!!

You'd think you'd died and gone to heaven.....
