Hmmm... Sounds like some have a sense of entitlement here.
As the OP, I did send out the first package of eggs and bit it for the postage. In trying to keep the chain alive, I did offer more eggs which would mean biting it again for postage. I want this to work for us. It would just be nice for others to sound like they respect the time and money I put into this. (I do take a hit when I offer eggs for free because I normally get $20 for 6 hatching eggs plus I'm paying postage.)
If Siz wanted to pay postage, that would be nice. I'm not asking for anything in return but polite sensitivity rather than near demands.
My original plan was for those raising rare birds to be able to find potential diversity for their breeders. Also, those willing to put in the time and devotion to increase numbers of endangered breeds could be an additional plus of this thread.
I offered the eggs over two weeks ago. At present, I'm experiencing a slow down with my Fayoumis and Spitzhaubens. I don't have those breeds available at this time.
I had previously asked if enough people were interested in swapping at this time. I know chickens slow down on laying when it is really hot which we are here in Oklahoma. I'm not sure if enough people are interested right now.
If at least 8 people that want to get this started again, post a message. If there is enough interest. I'll put out an offer to get it started again. Otherwise, enjoy the good conversations.
P.S.
ugly ducky, I do appreciate everything you have done.
