That is a lovely bird. Don't suppose it is an accepted color in the APA yet.

Nope, it’ll be a project for a while still.
But the Bantam Ermine Ameraucana was just accepted and later this year the large fowl Ermine is up for possible acceptance. Fingers crossed!

Do the Lav Ermine breed true? As in LE X LE = LE?

No. You’ll get Lavender, Dom White and Lav Ermine.

You need a Lavender and Dom White (homozygous white, with zero lavender feathers) to give you 100% Lav Ermine.

Works the same with Black Ermines.

You also need to watch for feather quality with the Lavender gene so that’s why I have Blacks split to lavender in the same pen.

I love all 3 colors so it works great for me!

I'm just going to stick with blacks and Ermines for now. I'm just beginning my hatching journey. I realize this means I'll get blacks, whites and Ermines. (Black cockerel for my male so far).
