Ratio of cockerels to pullets using broodies versus incubator

We hatched 15 chicks using an incubator and ended up with 7 cockerels and 8 pullets. We had 3 broodies hatch chicks and they hatched 2 cockerels and 8 pullets. So my question is: Has anyone noticed a consistent difference in the pullet to cockerel ratio when broodies hatch versus using an incubator?

I think the sex is already determined when the egg is laid as well, but I'm wondering if the broody hens have a way of being more selective and pushing certain eggs out. I'm always curious when I see them push particular eggs to the outside of the egg cluster.

Maybe the hen knows to lay female eggs when she is going broody. ? Another mystery. Lol
