I am referring to if the mouse is poisoned and the chicken eats the poisoned mouse.Probably. Make sure the poison is in a spot that is chicken proof! And monitor the chickens to make sure they don't eat or peck a poison infected mouse/rat.
I agree.I am referring to if the mouse is poisoned and the chicken eats the poisoned mouse.
Also, on another note, your response only showed the first sentence on my screen but when I hit "reply" the second sentence showed up on my screen to type on. Weird!
No poison chickens will get sick or dye from eating poisoned ratsI am referring to if the mouse is poisoned and the chicken eats the poisoned mouse.

I use that, then I found rats collect leaves and stuff and plug the pipes to prevent other rodents from eating the food, so I started using just pipes, easier to remove those leaves and stuff.
That is very helpful! Thank you!Yes they will, if you have an established colony.
Rats are fairly smart, they are very cautious of any new food source. They will send out scouts, and observe. If the scout, usually a younger member gets ill, they will defecate all over the source to warn others, rendering your trap and bait useless.
A bait station is for rodent control, not colony elimination.
That said, to eliminate a rat colony infestation, roll peanut butter into marble sized balls.
Put out a platter for them to enjoy.
As they disappear, refill. Good to use various brands and consistencies of peanut butter.
Be patient... Do this for at least a week.
Track how many disappear in 1 day.
Make sure you have enough to last a 2 day feeding.
After a week or more, put out a 50/50 mix of peanut butter and plaster of Paris marble sized balls. Add vegetable or peanut oil for consistency if necessary but no water.
Make and serve enough for a 2 day feeding...
Still see signs of rats, wait 2 weeks, and repeat above in a different location.
No more rats, put out the bait stations to eliminate any scouts from other colonies, rodent control.
Hope this helps.
I have been having a bit of a time with getting rid of mice/rats. They seem to be very smart when it comes to catching them. I've put down glue traps and regular mouse traps and have only caught one. After catching that one the others seem to be resistant to either getting in or on the trap then I finally purchased a tomcat bait pellet tub of rat poison.... well they seem to act like that's the best thing since chunk cheese!!!!I know they are multiplying because I keep seeing different sized droppings but they eat the pellets up! Can someone tell me of a stronger poison I could purchase? I've looked at a few videos on youtube and I'm thinking of trying the plaster/drywall mix/flour/peanut butter balls but the only problem with this is they could die anywhere, in my walls, under the floor and I really don't want to smell dead rodents in my house. They don't get near the feed container anymore, I think I've got that area pretty much shut off but these little buggers are getting in my house and there's not enough room for them and us
so someone's got to go! Guess who????
Let the war begin!!!
