and if you put LYE in the holes and trails they run in it kills them too oh and by the way plumbers put lye into the watercourse everyday it is pretty safe until rats lick it off their feet

Thanks for the ideas! I will try the lye too. Will that harm dogs and cats?

I tried the bucket with water trick last time I had rats and never caught a one...

I have dogs and cats, but the rats have too many escapes...
Which also makes it impossible to shoot them. I could potentially hit critters I dont want to shoot!

I agree, I just want them gone regardless of the method!

I have guineas. Maybe thats why there are no rats in the chicken coop! lol

I cant put guineas in with the quail though, right? That would be perfect if I could do that.

I know probably not good idea though...

I'm not going to say we don't have rats but I have never seen one here. Just mice. No darn roaches either
