Rattler!! New pics, nother snake pg 3

Look what we found in out yard just a little while ago. He was about 4 ft. long. We counted 8 rattles, with probably 4 more under the incompletely molted skin.

Yuk, I can't stand those things. We have had a couple of them in our yard this spring, but they were little.

My DH relocates them to the desert behind us. They help with the pack rats, so he says.

How big around was it? When I was little we were coming down the mountain from church, and there was a rattlesnake that stretched from yellow line to white line...I know, not supposed to grow that big...but they haven't been back in the mountains of Arkansas!
My parents still talk about how big that snake was.

Oh he is beautiful!!!! Yeah, rattlesnakes can get really big!!! The only ones I have seen around here are the pygmy rattlers though.
