Howdy all...

2 more nights in Germany. ... supposed to leave the apartment right now. .. but the kids ran a load of laundry .... and the door is now locked shut.... their favorite clothes are in there... kid 3 only has 2 good pairs of underwear... one is in there... it had been a couple of years since he got new socks... the new socks are in there too.. ... his irreplaceable boyscout camp hoodie is in there...

so much sadness

Al, I know unders are a big deal in your family, you cant leave without those! Plus a lost favorite hoodie would be a life long tragedy in my family. My kids would never remember anything about the trip except loosing that dang hoodie. You said you tried everything, did you try to call the management, or stalking the building until the maid gets there, or knocking on all the other apartment doors begging someone to let you into the laundry or asking if they have a spare key? Just a thought... I'm feeling for ya!

My kids would never remember anything about the trip except loosing that dang hoodie. the door on the front loader locked. .. that brand had no back-up release method... I did the drain and spin cycle three times. .. shook it... tilted it way far both ways... cleaned out the lint trap/drain thing.... and at first it looked like maybe for some reason the washer door hadn't opened because it hadn't drained correctly. ... but then after running the spin cycle 3 times I could hear any more water in it.... couldn't drain any more out... couldn't shake it out.....

My mom was on phone duty... and kept calling THE WRONG NUMBER all morning... found out after we were long gone... ah well. Owner said he would ship us the clothes. .. poor kids will be uncomfortable on the flight... but will eventually get their beloved clothes back... poor abused kids.
