and heh heh heh if you do sneak it in - they'll never know...

My friend's father refused to drink goat's milk. So they would just milk the goats and all that before he woke up, and put the milk in the cow milk carton. He never noticed!!!

Southernbelle, often people that are mildly allergic to cow's milk have no problem with goat's milk. The neighbor's girl is lactose intolerant, and she's fine. Of course she takes pills for it...

At risk in any one with a supressed or poor immune system. Some medications make you unable to fight off common bacteria or viruses as well as someone who has gone through chemotherapy. Children under 2 have incomplete and not fully active immune systems. Lots of things can destroy your immune system and leave you open to serious illness from very common bacteria present in the environment.

It depends on if you are TRULY lactose intolerant, or just have lactose maldigestion.

People that are lactose intolerant are allergic to lactose. People that have lactose maldigestion just have the intestinal problems-gas, bloating, pain, etc.

Goats' milk does contain lactose, but not as much as cows milk. Goats' milk proteins and fats are smaller, easier to digest globules than cows' milk.

So, to answer your question, maybe

Generally speaking, people that have mild digestive upset from store bought milk can handle goats' milk with no issues. But if you are ALLERGIC to something, you will still be allergic.

Does that make sense? If your dh is allergic to something in cows' milk, you need to find out EXACTLY what he is allergic to in it. Either that, or make sure you have some epinephrine on hand when you force feed him goats' milk

yep Miss P got the 'risk groups' - generally older folks or kids (parents discretion) or if there is a medical condition

when i did the research and found out that the commercial dairy industry had basically 'cooked out' all the food value of milk - wow was i amazed.

however to hear the FDA you'd think you were drinking poison if you were drinking raw milk! for heavens sakes

got another round of cheese startin' whoo hooo!

Points to you for doing your homework. When I tell people this they look at me like I'm crazy.

Same people are the ones horrified by the fact that we eat eggs "from a chicken's behind".

Where do people think food comes from??

Theres a reason why its the most used milk in the world!!

What gets me is the fact that homogonized cows milk is abrasive, it irritates the lining of our intestines, resulting in the body storing, producing and using more bad cholesterol to line the intestinal wall as a protective barrier- the result is that its absorbed right into our blood stream. And we wonder why americans have SO much cholesterol issues!

Goats milk doesnt have that issue. Among other benefits.

I love goats milk.
