Raw Poultry Scraps

At this point I'm more looking for confirmation that I didn't poison my girls, I'm paranoid.

How are your chickens doing? I'll bet fine.

Anything is possible when it comes to this stuff. Salmonella and other diseases and parasites are in the environment. It's just as likely if not more so that our chickens are exposed as commercial chickens. That's just the way life is.

When I butcher chickens I keep two buckets handy. One gets the stuff I'll bury, usually in the garden. The other gets bits that I'll feed back to the rest of the flock raw. When I trap a mouse I toss it in the run, they love them. I've seen them catch and eat frogs and small snakes. Sometimes when I kill a small predator I'll cut the carcass open and let them feast. I don't bring road kill back to them but some people do. Some hunters or fishermen toss them scraps after butchering or cleaning. I regularly feed them kitchen scraps and garden wastes. They catch or find grasshoppers, grubs, snails, all kinds of creepy crawlies that can potentially carry something. All these things are raw.

These chickens are not poisoned. You did not poison your chickens. You simply gave them some extra protein that they loved.
