Reaching out to inactive members

We have to balance trying to get peeps active again with also respecting their space.

We're hoping things like our new weekly newsletters will help re-engage old members that have become less active.

... but if peeps have old friends that aren't around any more, a nice private message checking in on them wouldn't hurt ;)
Is the newsletter something that every member automatically recieves? Have we recieved one? I might have missed noting dates.

I went searching through my chicken emails and all I could find was one mentioning that I signed up for the threadloom newsletter at the beginning of February. Anything else would have gotten buried by Pinterest notifications. :gig

I'm on a couple other forums that I hardly ever visit, automatically send me a nice birthday email each year. It's a simple reminder, unobtrusive and effective.

I am on one that does that too.

I get those also. Plus some places that will drop me a personalized message to say something along the lines of "missing you".

Same here. I just got a reminder from google maps about missing me.
I realize it's an automated notice. But I still thought "Awwww, they miss me!" :love
I don't mind those small reminders. Plus, it had a puppy on it.:wee
