Ready Set Hatch! Set 3/17 Hatch 4/7 - ready now! Hatch-Along

Good to know. Thanks Durr. I have one barred rock that always lays porous eggs with a gritty coating but I've never tried to hatch hers. It's like her body doesn't process the calcium - just throws it on like sandpaper. I don't have any water in my incubator and it's holding right at 35% humidity.

I am thinking they will be barnyard mix ....
My dad insisted that he get some eggs for me this time lol they will be large birds prob mostly for meat ....this is only my second hatch and my desired flock will eventually consist of BR .... OE. ....BO.... SLW...RIR...ameraucauna (or however it's spelled)!! Lol

Some of mine are crosses of BO,RIR,EE,SLW,BR,NH,SF,BA,SS - it'll be fun to see what my flock produces. This is my second hatch too.

i think.... my first hatch has OE and BR and Ameraucana not real sure and maybe BO ....
any good at telling what chicks are?

I have EE, RIR, and SS roos. The roos are all young (hatched last fall) and they all live together with my hens quite peacefully so far. I have only one or two of each breed hen - BR,EE,BO,SLW,RIR,NH,SF,BA,RSL...I don't think I missed anyone.
