Me too. If I manage to hatch some of my marans eggs I'll probably try to cross for a few olive Eggers next year. My current hens' eggs are various shades of light to medium brown, cream, and bluish green. The people that buy eggs from us love the variety. That's one of the reasons I have so many types of chickens - I love variety! Plus I can't make up my mind...

This is usually my first candling day, and I'm going to resist but I HAVE to candle on day 5...LOL. I can't resist that long. I wanna know how many are growing!

Well, my darling wife found and purchased a present for me today. (sorry it's won't rotate!)

Half dozen Araucana I was hoping to have to begin with! They are 3 days and 1 hour behind the others, so due about the 10th. Never done a split hatch before so hopefully I don't muff it. Good thing we kept the Hova-bator.

Didn't mess about getting them in either!

With a bit of luck we will get one or two pure bred Araucana, from grey parents laying lavender eggs.

You got the araucana eggs - yay!!!
Hokankai - we can resist...I'm pretty sure. If this helps, I read on another thread that at 3 days the little veining system is very fragile and handling/candling can cause damage. Don't know if it's true but it does help me resist til day 5 or 7. Okay, maybe I'm considering sneaking one under a light...but then if that one doesn't hatch I will regret it. Today is day 3 for me, 72 hours since setting.

That's awesome!!!! Congrats and fingers crossed that they all hatch!!

Hahaha... since we don't have a local limit for poultry...I just calculated. If I go by the 4sq ft per bird we could have almost 140,000! Oh boy we need to build more coops. Lol. I kind of like my husband and being married so I won't tell him that thought!
