Ready Set Hatch! Set 3/17 Hatch 4/7 - ready now! Hatch-Along

I love to incubate also and it's hard to resist LOL reading all of your posts. I hope your Sikies hatch. Everyone says they are great broodies. I would love to add a couple of silkie bantams to my flock. My Jap hen is so funny with all the eggs. She stands over a laying hen and waits for her to get done and then positions the egg just the way she wants it. And gaurds the nest until she has just the right number of eggs for her. It's so easy to get addicted to chicken. I think its an illness LOL

That is interesting that not only does she set willing and knowingly on other eggs but waits till there are a certain amount of eggs .... Too cool .... Can't wait till I have some broody hens some day!

I was reading a post about a broody hen who would steal eggs from other nest by tucking them between her beak and chest and move them to her nest. Funny little creatures.

Wow this is nothing like the Easter hatch along thread lol pretty quiet here!!
Sooooo I was thinking I would post a quiet pic of my eggs in the bator! 2 days down only 19 excruciating days to go :)

I'm sure it'll pick up once we're on day 7-10 or so and have candling to discuss. Here's a pic of some of mine - looking through the window, just hanging out in the 100° heat!
